SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the specific wavelength of the cyan spectral line of sodium, which is located near 500 nm. Participants highlight the difficulty in finding precise values beyond the commonly referenced doublet. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) resources are recommended for accurate spectral data. The exact wavelength for the cyan line is not explicitly provided in the discussion, indicating a gap in readily available information.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of spectral lines and their significance in spectroscopy
  • Familiarity with wavelength measurements in nanometers (nm)
  • Knowledge of sodium's spectral characteristics
  • Ability to navigate scientific databases such as NIST
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the sodium D-line doublet and its significance in spectroscopy
  • Explore the NIST Atomic Spectra Database for detailed spectral line data
  • Investigate the principles of atomic emission spectra
  • Learn about the applications of sodium spectral lines in various scientific fields
USEFUL FOR

Students, researchers, and professionals in physics, chemistry, and materials science who require precise spectral data for sodium and its applications in spectroscopy.

I am in need of the wavelength of the spectral lines of sodium but all I can find is the wavelength for the doublet. I am looking for the cyan coloured one that appears very close to 500nm but I cannot find the exact value anywhere. Would anyone be able to direct me somewhere?
Thanks
