AWWWWWWRRRRRRR! That's so cuuuuuuute!

The cats really thinking...

"Now's my chance to go for the achilles...I'll eat like a king!"

Hey, I bet that is the same little buck I posted a pic of in the current photo contest! His horns have grown a bit in the last couple of weeks!

Tsu, I am guessing Ivan is off on his Ca. trip. Have you heard when he will get back?

Why, I believe it is the very same little buck, by cracky.

Yes, he is and I believe Saturday is the target departure date. He was able to fix their week(s?) long problem in a couple of hours, tho, so they may just try to keep him there FOREVER! :frown:

That deer does look very familiar! Are you close enough that it might be the same one?

It's absolutely the same one. There's no other buck on our property but that one!

Well, except for Ivan. But he's out of range for the moment.

 Buck? Yep, just me and the doe.

We had another buck around for a short time but I haven't seen him for weeks now. We have been watching this one grow for months.

Bun is quite fascinated with the deer and they her. I keep expecting to find them sleeping together.

Oh yeah, my pic in the photo contest was taken from Ivan and Tsu's driveway looking down the path (road) to Ivan's office, which is hidden by the trees on the right edge of my pic. I my pic the little guy is standing 50' from the door of Ivan's office.

 Though, Bun has more of an annoyed look to me. I think he's saying, "Mom, put away that camera and leave us alone! You're cramping my style!"

Actually - NO! I haven't! I usually just say "Hi Sweetums" whenever I run into any of them. Hmmm... Any suggestions for names would certainly be fun!

Just reread the past few posts...

Hypatia, I'm old and blind. I thought you asked if I NAMED them - now I see you said TAMED... I guess as far as I'm concerned they ARE tame. I don't try to walk up to them to pet or feed them - they are too skittish for that - but they hang out with me when I'm gardening, etc. They like to lay under my ocean spray shrub and watch me pull weeds. They lay around all over the place - sometimes just feet from the house as you can see in the second picture I posted.

On our local news several nights ago was a story about a yearling bull moose. Apparently, his mother ran him off when she had another calf this season, and he decided to "adopt" a human family for a few days. He hung out with the people and their dog, and like having his ears scratched. The footage showed the kids hugging him and he apparently wasn't fazed by the camera crew, either because he seemed to enjoy the attention he was getting. As big as moose are, little kids wouldn't be able to hug his head unless he leaned down to encourage the contact. After a few days of socializing, he took off.

Last summer, a doe and her two fawns regularly slept on our front lawn overnight. I haven't seen her this summer, but the sleep-overs started in July if I recall, and went right up through fall. When the apples were ripe, I would shake the tree a bit if there weren't any "drops" on the ground for them. I've got to say, I don't expect bucks to drape themselves over our raised herb-garden, though.

I've never seen one lounging around looking that relaxed before. I guess he's getting his bachelor pad all broken in before he starts inviting over the little does in the fall.
