Hi,

My name is Jolyon and I am from the UK. I work as a design engineer prototyping machines for the plastics recycling industry and often find myself needing to know how to work things out. My education was a while ago now and a little limited. Pretty much all of my knowledge comes from a workshop environment where I make things and test them. Quite often, though, it is necessary justify my engineering solutions with some calculations and this is where I can fall short.

So, I'll be seeking help here but hopefully will be able to help others as well.

I have a son who is reading Physics at Oxford University but he's too busy to help me !

Yrs,

Jolyon

Hello everyone, I was advised to join this community while seeking guidance on how to navigate the academic world as an independent researcher. My name is Omar, and I'm based in Groningen The Netherlands. My formal physics education ended after high school, but I have dedicated the last several years to developing a theoretical framework from first principles. My work focuses on a topological field theory (which I call Swirl-String Theory) that models particles as knotted vortex...
