Need to chose a sensor for a presentation

AI Thread Summary
For a short presentation requiring a simple sensor that can be explained in three slides, several options were suggested. These include a voltmeter, pH meter, osmolarity meter, pressure gauge, and photosensor. An alternative suggestion was to discuss a 'chip log' or 'log line' for measuring velocity, which is considered straightforward. The discussion emphasizes the need for clarity and simplicity in the presentation of the chosen sensor.

As stated I need to chose a somewhat simple sensor (needs to be fully explained in 3 slides) for a short presentation. I cannot use anything we have discussed at length (accelerometer, strain gauge, thermocouple, LVDT).

Any ideas?

Thanks

Here's some simple ones:

Voltmeter
pH meter
Osmolarity meter
pressure gauge
photosensor

If you want to get sneaky, talk about a 'chip log' or a 'log line' to measure velocity- that's about as simple as it gets.

TL;DR Summary: I want to do a PhD in applied math but I hate group theory, is this a big problem? Hello, I am a second-year math and physics double major with a minor in data science. I just finished group theory (today actually), and it was my least favorite class in all of university so far. It doesn't interest me, and I am also very bad at it compared to other math courses I have done. The other courses I have done are calculus I-III, ODEs, Linear Algebra, and Prob/Stats. Is it a...
