AI Thread Summary
A proposal for a Tech Advisor badge in the PF Tech section aims to recognize members who provide exceptional assistance. Currently, these contributors might fall under the science adviser category. To nominate someone for this recognition, users can report their posts and suggest they deserve a medal based on their helpfulness and accuracy. Candidates should ideally have 600-800 relevant posts and at least three months of active participation. The criteria can include a combination of contributions across various technical subjects, not limited to a single area.

How about a Tech Advisor badge for those who are recognized as providing exceptional help in the Tech section of PF? Just an idea.

Wouldn't those people currently fall into the science adviser category in our current set up?

Yes, if you have anyone you want to nominate for recognition for a medal, you can use the "report" button on one of their posts, and just mention that you think they deserve a medal for their continued efforts. That would help us identify deserving members since we don't have a mentor assigned to that forum. Rule of thumb, a member should have 600-800 posts on the subject that are *accurate* and *helpful* in tone, and at least 3 months of current postings on the forum. So there are a number of factors we are looking for before a medal is given.

Also, if someone thinks they meet this criteria and were overlooked, don't hesitate to ask a mentor to have your posting history reviewed. We are only human and we miss people sometimes.

Evo, do you mean 600-800 posts altogether or 600-800 posts on the topic they are being given the medal for?

It could be a combination of math, biology, physics, engineering, etc... It doesn't have to be on a specific topic.
