Instead of thinking of non - critical and critical strings, why not thinking about those as 1 aspect of the same theory, where the non - critical character provides a kind of virtual dimensions. Maybe this could somehow guide a preferential choice of the vaccuum?

For example, this theory, could work as a guide, or attractor:

For 13 years, the first author (B.B. Deo) has been placing papers on the arxiv on this theme, and I found nothing but self-citations for his work. It doesn't inspire confidence that it's worth deciphering; everything suggests that studying the paper will reduce to identifying the places where it goes wrong.

The idea of the title was mine. The author's work is not direclty related to that. The only relation is, for example, it would be suited as kind of atractor.

What is the idea? To use noncritical string theory so we can work directly in four dimensions?

No, I was thinking use non critical strings as a guide to compactification. For example, consider the concept of off shell mass, which is based in non observable violations of special relativy. Extend that to the critical strings, in which one of the fundamental properties to be conserved is the central charge. So, let it be a sum on c=/=0. And take several values to see if there is a preferential way to fold.

https://arxiv.org/pdf/2503.09804 From the abstract: ... Our derivation uses both EE and the Newtonian approximation of EE in Part I, to describe semi-classically in Part II the advection of DM, created at the level of the universe, into galaxies and clusters thereof. This advection happens proportional with their own classically generated gravitational field g, due to self-interaction of the gravitational field. It is based on the universal formula ρD =λgg′2 for the densityρ D of DM...
Many of us have heard of "twistors", arguably Roger Penrose's biggest contribution to theoretical physics. Twistor space is a space which maps nonlocally onto physical space-time; in particular, lightlike structures in space-time, like null lines and light cones, become much more "local" in twistor space. For various reasons, Penrose thought that twistor space was possibly a more fundamental arena for theoretical physics than space-time, and for many years he and a hardy band of mostly...
