SUMMARY

The discussion focuses on inverting amplifiers, specifically addressing the relationship between output voltage (Vout) and input voltage (Vin) defined by the formula Vout/Vin = -R2/R1. Participants noted that the closed-loop gain is less but more linear, which is crucial for accurate signal amplification. The user successfully solved parts a) and d) and sought assistance with parts b), c), e), and f), ultimately determining that parts b) and c) involve countering input bias current using the formula R = 1/(R1 + R2).

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of operational amplifier (op-amp) fundamentals
  • Familiarity with resistor configurations in circuits
  • Knowledge of gain calculations in electronic circuits
  • Basic graphing skills for analyzing linear relationships
NEXT STEPS
  • Study the concept of input bias current in op-amps
  • Learn about feedback mechanisms in op-amp circuits
  • Explore the effects of resistor values on gain and linearity
  • Investigate the use of simulation tools like LTspice for circuit analysis
USEFUL FOR

Electronics students, circuit designers, and engineers looking to deepen their understanding of inverting amplifiers and improve their circuit analysis skills.

Can do part a) ! Vout/ Vin = -R2 / R1

and found part d) in a book, that closed loop gain is less but more linear and am able to draw the graph.

Any help with b) c) e) f) would be great, particulary part b) and c) as i think its something very basic that i should know!

Figured out part b) and c), its to counter input bias current and R = 1/R1 + 1/R2
