Organizing PF Posts for a Professional Portfolio: Is It Possible?

AI Thread Summary
Organizing Physics Forum posts into a professional portfolio is challenging due to the limitations of the platform. Users can access their posts through a specific search link, but this link is not universally accessible and only displays results for the individual user. Suggestions include categorizing posts into personal and professional sections, although the feasibility of this depends on the forum's structure. Printing or saving posts as a PDF for portfolio use is a potential solution, but referring to the forum itself in a professional context may not be advisable. Overall, while creating a portfolio from forum contributions is possible, it requires careful consideration of accessibility and presentation.

Hi all,
I know my posts/contents can be found at : https://www.physicsforums.com/search/1647215/

I am trying to use this address as a personal portfolio for job applications. Is there a way of breaking down the contents maybe into 1) My PF lounge posts 2) My other , more "professional" posts (I would like to present these last as my portfolio)?
Thanks.

I would print them out or save as a PDF and then merge into a portfolio of some kind that you can give to a future employer. I wouldn't suggest referring to PF as part of your portfolio.

That link does not work - it is your search query, only you can access the results.

This link will start a new search for every user accessing it: https://www.physicsforums.com/search/member?user_id=69719
It might be possible to restrict it to specific forums with additional parameters (not just the user_id), but I don't know XenForo well enough.

I want to thank those members who interacted with me a couple of years ago in two Optics Forum threads. They were @Drakkith, @hutchphd, @Gleb1964, and @KAHR-Alpha. I had something I wanted the scientific community to know and slipped a new idea in against the rules. Thank you also to @berkeman for suggesting paths to meet with academia. Anyway, I finally got a paper on the same matter as discussed in those forum threads, the fat lens model, got it peer-reviewed, and IJRAP...
This came up in my job today (UXP). Never thought to raise it here on PF till now. Hyperlinks really should be underlined at all times. PF only underlines them when they are rolled over. Colour alone (especially dark blue/purple) makes it difficult to spot a hyperlink in a large block of text (or even a small one). Not everyone can see perfectly. Even if they don't suffer from colour deficiency, not everyone has the visual acuity to distinguish two very close shades of text. Hover actions...
About 20 years ago, in my mid-30s (and with a BA in economics and a master's in business), I started taking night classes in physics hoping to eventually earn the science degree I'd always wanted but never pursued. I found physics forums and used it to ask questions I was unable to get answered from my textbooks or class lectures. Unfortunately, work and life got in the way and I never got further the freshman courses. Well, here it is 20 years later. I'm in my mid-50s now, and in a...
