AI Thread Summary
A request was made for a bibliography of reputable scientific journals to aid undergraduates in identifying quality resources. The user is currently aware of only two journals, Physics Today and Nature Physics, and expresses frustration with local journals that waste time. It was noted that Physics Today features articles with references to other credible journals, which could serve as a resource for finding additional quality literature. A reminder was provided to consult the PF Rules for a list of acceptable reference journals. Access to a curated list of scientific journals would greatly benefit students navigating academic research.

Please create soon, I am in undergrad and knows only only about two, Physics Today and Nature Physics from Zz blog on being physicist. My college library have many but without knowledge about good journals, reading rough/local journals is 100% killing of time.

If you read the PF Rules, under Discussion Guidelines, there is a link to a list of scientific journals that are considered to be acceptable reference journals.

Zz.

The feature articles in Physics Today usually have end-references to articles in other (good) journals.

thanks.

I want to thank those members who interacted with me a couple of years ago in two Optics Forum threads. They were @Drakkith, @hutchphd, @Gleb1964, and @KAHR-Alpha. I had something I wanted the scientific community to know and slipped a new idea in against the rules. Thank you also to @berkeman for suggesting paths to meet with academia. Anyway, I finally got a paper on the same matter as discussed in those forum threads, the fat lens model, got it peer-reviewed, and IJRAP...
About 20 years ago, in my mid-30s (and with a BA in economics and a master's in business), I started taking night classes in physics hoping to eventually earn the science degree I'd always wanted but never pursued. I found physics forums and used it to ask questions I was unable to get answered from my textbooks or class lectures. Unfortunately, work and life got in the way and I never got further the freshman courses. Well, here it is 20 years later. I'm in my mid-50s now, and in a...
