Going from top down there signs of Schutzs, Misner-Thorne, Srednicki's QFT and Zwiebach. Very nice.

This forum discussion centers around sharing images of various laboratory setups, particularly focusing on laser labs and theoretical physics environments. Participants showcase their labs, including nonlinear optics setups with Argon lasers and dye lasers, and engage in light-hearted banter about the nature of their workspaces. Specific references include high-power laser systems, safety protocols for laser usage, and the challenges of maintaining a clean lab environment. The conversation highlights the diversity of experimental and theoretical physics labs across different locations, including New Zealand and the United States.
PREREQUISITESExperimental physicists, laser technicians, theoretical physicists, and anyone interested in the practical applications of optics and laser technology in research settings.

Yes I am thinking you must be right, high power RF device requiring cooling. Scratch HTS.n0_3sc said:After googling for "particle colliders" I'm taking a guess the rings are "Damping Rings" or an "RF Cavity"?
ZapperZ said:OK, so now it's my turn. Identify the copper thingy with the tubes sticking out of it. :)

I can't imagine any particle experiments/measurements utilising large solid copper rings that are held at a temperature...RonL said:My guess is some particle measurments, using nitrogen cooling.![]()

Congratulations on the firefox change over...was a wise decision :)
I recognize Cohen-Tannoudji, Diu and Laloë, QM I & II. On the right shelf, top far left is an old McGraw-Hill book with tan cover and green label. I have several of those in the International Series in Pure and Applied Physics that were new in the 1970's.George Jones said:I am theoretician; here are my books.
