SUMMARY

The GRE Physics Exam preparation can be effectively supported by utilizing resources such as the five old exams released by ETS and the book "Conquering the Physics GRE." While the ETS exams provide authentic practice, the community solutions available online enhance understanding. "Conquering the Physics GRE" offers material reviews and practice tests, although they are not official. It is advisable to supplement these resources with comprehensive study from "Fundamentals of Physics" by Resnick and Halliday for a thorough grasp of the subject.

PREREQUISITES
  • Familiarity with GRE exam structure and requirements
  • Basic understanding of physics concepts covered in the GRE
  • Access to "Conquering the Physics GRE" for additional practice
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems from "Fundamentals of Physics" by Resnick and Halliday
NEXT STEPS
  • Obtain and review the five old GRE Physics exams from ETS
  • Study "Conquering the Physics GRE" for targeted practice and material review
  • Work through selected problems in "Fundamentals of Physics" by Resnick and Halliday
  • Explore online forums for community solutions and additional practice resources
USEFUL FOR

Prospective graduate students in physics, educators preparing students for the GRE, and anyone seeking to enhance their physics knowledge for the GRE exam.

Hey!

I'm planning on applying at some schools in the US next year/this year and I need ot take the GRE exam this fall. I've looked at some old exams and they look pretty straightforward, but I was wondering if anyone knew any resources for the physics exam (i.e. practice tests etc.).

Thanks!

ETS has released five old exams, those and community provided solutions can be found on the internet. Also, a new book for the physics GRE was published a couple years ago, called Conquering the Physics GRE. The authors review some material and provide a few practice tests. But keep in mind those aren't made by the test makers, so they aren't going to be as much like the real thing. Still, I found the book to be worthwhile, especially given how cheap it is, but it shouldn't be your only resource.

Does it necessary to go through all the problems in Fundamentals of Physics by Resnick and Halliday? I really need some suggestions in this case.
