Hello, I am a first year Mechanical Engineering student at Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo, and I'm looking for a professional Mechanical Engineer to respond to these interview questions. I'm conducting interviews for my technical writing course this quarter, and would love to hear your opinions on these topics!

Thank you!
James

A) What kinds of communication do you commonly perform (e.g., conversations with clients, documentation, reports, emails, etc.)? What kinds of communication skills do you think are needed to be successful in industry?

B) How is the field changing? How is the field different from what it used to be and/or how might the field change in the next 5 years? What new trends in the field seem particularly exciting to you?

C) How did you become interested or join the field? Does you have any advice for people who would like to join the field?
