Quantum Chromodynamics for QFT Students

AI Thread Summary
A recommended introductory book on Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) for those familiar with Quantum Field Theory (QFT) is the CTEQ Handbook of Perturbative QCD. Walter Greiner's QCD textbook is also noted as a solid option. The discussion highlights the importance of personal experience with the texts, as one participant mentions their limited exposure to other QCD books, which influences their assessment. Overall, the conversation centers on finding accessible yet comprehensive resources for learning QCD with a prerequisite understanding of QFT.

Walter Greiner has a QCD textbook that seems pretty good.

'seems'? I think to OP whan opinions from people that have read the books in question :-P

I have read it; the reason I use 'seems' is because I haven't read any other QCD books! :)

Hi, I have notice that Ashcroft, Mermin and Wei worked at a revised edition of the original solid state physics book (here). The book, however, seems to be never available. I have also read that the reason is related to some disputes related to copyright. Do you have any further information about it? Did you have the opportunity to get your hands on this revised edition? I am really curious about it, also considering that I am planning to buy the book in the near future... Thanks!
