AI Thread Summary
Bans on forums can be either temporary or permanent, with temporary bans potentially lasting for various time periods. Users may experience bans that last longer than a few days, but bans exceeding a few weeks are uncommon. The individual mentioned in the discussion returned with the same account, indicating a possible temporary ban. Users can get unbanned after the expiration of a temporary ban, while permanent bans do not allow for reinstatement. I noticed a dude on here, and his name had a slash through it. And he stopped posting for a while. Does that mean that he was banned? And if so, how do you get unbanned? Cause the dude is back, with the same account.

There are temporary bans (time outs), which expire, and there are permanent bans, which off course do not expire.

But do you guys have like months long bans? Cause the dude was gone for quite a while. I figured banning would be either like a few days or for ever.

The length of a temporary ban may be set to any required time period. However, bans longer than a few weeks are rare.
