My wife and I are on that disk.
Cool! I had forgotten about it. In fact for a time I thought it was on a mission that failed. But some years ago I found the certificate and realized the disk should be up there.

I guess we all should be listed in the first museum on Mars. :)

Our garden (middle, most private part: where no roads can be seen, anywhere around:smile:)
a20250914_072522.webp

(we just leave the molehills alone. Given that the grass here already has some ... topography they won't make much difference anyway...)
a20250914_072510.webp

(Oooops... But that crate was the refuge of some junior amelanchier, so it is definitely in the right place in the shadow :) )
a20250914_072250.webp

(Well, there will be some adjustments.. But that slanted look too has its own charm...)
a20250914_072205.webp

(When even the watering can is not out of the picture...)

((Pavement is for the flowers!)

...and where our vegetables grows (with some bits and piece of the neighborhood o0) )

Such a tragedy. He made massive waves at Mavericks and drowned in the Maldives practicing long breath holds, alone

A tragedy indeed.
And I must say I did a double-take at the birth- and death-dates. I hadn't before encountered Buddhist Era (BE) dates, which are apparently 543 years ahead of the Gregorian calendar.

Just posted this pic I took, along with with the comment "If this is how they act in a parking lot, imagine how they'll act on your property." (it's a local landscaping business)

Hashtagged the company scatto lawn, and sent it to their Inbox.

It wasn't merely a drive by. He was in there when I arrived (and had to park elsewhere) and he was still in there when I left.

Anyway, if I wake up tomorrow in a wood chipper, please avenge my death.

Last weekend I was in Roanoke, Virginia for yet another stamp show. Nearby I passed through Buchanan, where Google Maps lured me to investigate this inn, in an old railroad car.

It doesn't appear to be in operation any more. Kind of forlorn and unkempt outside, with no cars nearby except mine. The only sign of life was this caretaker (?).

With cappuccino at this Japanese restaurant in Jomtien I get good ideas from menu: Mackerel and avocado salad . Can't get any heathier than that- don't even try.

Some fall flowers shot with 55mm MicroNikkor at 1:2 reproduction ratio:

These were shot at f/11, but by opening the lens to f/3.5 I can strongly emphasize the small depth of field:

Unfortunately, the short working distance makes shooting insects tricky. I couldn't (safely!) get close enough to this one:
