AI Thread Summary
When selecting a quality voice recorder for lectures, key considerations include recording distance and sound clarity. Users emphasize the importance of devices that can capture audio effectively from a distance, making them suitable for lecture environments. Many find that using a dedicated voice recorder yields better results than relying on smartphone apps or built-in features. The iFP-880 from iRiver is mentioned as a viable option, offering approximately 10 hours of recording time with 128MB of storage. Additionally, while some recorders do not support CD usage directly, files can often be transferred to a computer and burned onto a CD for larger storage needs. However, the challenge of reviewing lengthy recordings, such as 2-3 hours of lecture material, is noted as a drawback of using voice recorders.

For recording lectures, I use the voice recorder that came with my mp3 player. It has very good quality (but no cd as you can tell). But its also possible to make a cd out of the saved files.

The easy part is recording it, but then when you have to listen back to about 2 -3 hrs, it aint nice :)

iFP-880 from iriver. That 128MB gives approx. 10 hrs I believe.

has anyone tried this..

Similar to the 2024 thread, here I start the 2025 thread. As always it is getting increasingly difficult to predict, so I will make a list based on other article predictions. You can also leave your prediction here. Thread 'My experience as a hostage'
I believe it was the summer of 2001 that I made a trip to Peru for my work. I was a private contractor doing automation engineering and programming for various companies, including Frito Lay. Frito had purchased a snack food plant near Lima, Peru, and sent me down to oversee the upgrades to the systems and the startup. Peru was still suffering the ills of a recent civil war and I knew it was dicey, but the money was too good to pass up. It was a long trip to Lima; about 14 hours of airtime...
