SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the search for an online physics course specifically utilizing the Berkeley Physics Series, Volume 3 (Waves) by Dr. Crawford. The original course materials are no longer available due to the departure of Dr. Crawford and the shift in teaching methods at the Berkeley Physics Department. Participants are encouraged to provide links or suggestions for courses that align with the traditional approach to wave phenomena as outlined in this specific textbook.

PREREQUISITES
  • Familiarity with classical mechanics and wave theory
  • Understanding of the Berkeley Physics Series methodology
  • Basic knowledge of online learning platforms
  • Ability to navigate academic resources for course materials
NEXT STEPS
  • Research online platforms offering physics courses, such as Coursera or edX
  • Look for archived courses or lecture notes related to the Berkeley Physics Series
  • Investigate forums or communities focused on physics education for recommendations
  • Explore alternative textbooks that cover wave phenomena in a similar style
USEFUL FOR

Students and educators seeking to revisit classical wave theory, particularly those with a background in physics who wish to study using traditional methodologies and resources.

During my B.S./Physics I largely missed course # 3, which (back then) was entirely based on the Berkeley Physics Series, Volume 3 (Waves), by Dr. Crawford. I would *really* like to retake this course, using this book (even though it apparently is out of style nowadays). Unfortunately, Dr. Crawford has left us, his class notes were lost/destroyed, and the Berkeley Physics Dept has moved on to other approaches to teaching wave phenomena (theory and applications), and other textbooks.

Any suggestions for finding an online-accessible waves course taught in the "old" style, using this book? Thanks in advance for any links, suggestions, or ideas.
