AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on whether to change from an Associate in Arts degree to an Associate in Science degree before transferring to a Computer Science program. The user notes that they only need 27 more credits for the Associate in Science and questions the importance of the degree type for their future studies. There is a belief that maintaining the current degree may not negatively impact their transfer to Computer Science and could even imply a stronger foundation in the field. Overall, the inclination is to remain with the Associate in Arts degree, as it may not significantly affect admission into the desired program.

The current degree I'm enrolled in at my junior college is associate in arts. Since I want to go into Computer Science once I transfer should I change my degree to associate in science instead?

P.S. I used the degree progress tracker on my student account and from what it tells me I only need 27 credits to get a associate in science degree.

I don't think it'll matter at all. In fact, it might even make it seem like you needed an Associate in science degree to get into CS. So my inclination is to leave it be.

Hey, I am Andreas from Germany. I am currently 35 years old and I want to relearn math and physics. This is not one of these regular questions when it comes to this matter. So... I am very realistic about it. I know that there are severe contraints when it comes to selfstudy compared to a regular school and/or university (structure, peers, teachers, learning groups, tests, access to papers and so on) . I will never get a job in this field and I will never be taken serious by "real"...
