AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on the backlash against Ashlee Simpson's performance during the season premiere of Saturday Night Live (SNL). Participants express disappointment in SNL for featuring Simpson, whom they label as lacking talent. Key points include her pre-recorded vocals playing before the live band, her awkward stage presence, and her claim that her band played the wrong song, which many found unconvincing. The conversation highlights frustration over SNL's choice to feature an artist perceived as riding on her sister's fame rather than showcasing more deserving musicians. Additionally, there are comments reflecting a broader critique of SNL's decline in quality since the passing of Chris Farley, with mixed opinions on the Simpson sisters' singing abilities.

Did any of you see Saturday Night Live's season premier?

You've probably already heard about Ashlee Simpson being exposed for the talentless fraud that she is.

SNL is known for great, live musical performances, but Simpson is probably its biggest screw-up ever.

Instead of choosing a real musician, they chose someone who can't dance or sing. Her voice track started playing before the band, and while she had the mic at her hip - busted. She stood there as we heard a pre-recorded voice in the background singing, while she stood there. Then, she left the stage as her band continued playing.

The worst part was when she told the crowd at the end how, "My band played the wrong song."

Tons of talented musicians out there, many of them looking for exposure. Why did they choose a fraud like Ashlee riding on her sisters popularity?

There's an awesome discussion on it http://www.saturday-night-live.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1301&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 in case you missed out.

This just goes to show that SNL is going down the drain - ever since Chris Farley died.

I don't like either Jessica or Ashley Simpson as a singer. However, they aren't that bad. Still, I think Ashley is a better singer than Jessica.

Thread 'In the early days of electricity, they didn't have wall plugs'
Hello scientists, engineers, etc. I have not had any questions for you recently, so have not participated here. I was scanning some material and ran across these 2 ads. I had posted them at another forum, and I thought you may be interested in them as well. History is fascinating stuff! Some houses may have had plugs, but many homes just screwed the appliance into the light socket overhead. Does anyone know when electric wall plugs were in widespread use? 1906 ad DDTJRAC Even big...
