AI Thread Summary
To become a homework helper, an individual must be nominated by a mentor, and the nomination requires consensus from the group. There is no formal application process; instead, it relies on a demonstrated history of providing valid homework assistance. The community plays a crucial role in the selection process, emphasizing the importance of peer recognition. Aspiring helpers should focus on building a solid track record of support and engagement. Ultimately, becoming a homework helper is a collaborative decision rather than a personal ambition.

One is nominated by a mentor and then we all agreed upon the nomination. You cannot "apply" for it. It is based on a record of valid homework assistance.

I found physics forums and used it to ask questions I was unable to get answered from my textbooks or class lectures. Unfortunately, work and life got in the way and I never got further the freshman courses. Well, here it is 20 years later. I'm in my mid-50s now, and in a...
