Thevenin's theorem application. HELP (this is for an exam in 2 weeks)

Click For Summary
SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the application of Thevenin's theorem, specifically in solving a complex circuit problem for an exam. The user struggles to derive the Thevenin equivalent voltage (Vth), which they believe should be 10.98 volts, but have instead calculated incorrect values like 22.2 volts. The user expresses a lack of understanding of Thevenin's theorem, particularly in applying it to challenging questions, and seeks assistance with calculation methods, such as node voltage analysis.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of Thevenin's theorem
  • Basic circuit analysis techniques
  • Familiarity with node voltage method
  • Knowledge of voltage and current sources
NEXT STEPS
  • Study Thevenin's theorem applications in complex circuits
  • Practice node voltage method with various circuit examples
  • Review circuit simplification techniques
  • Explore online resources or textbooks on circuit analysis
USEFUL FOR

Students preparing for electrical engineering exams, particularly those focusing on circuit analysis and Thevenin's theorem applications.

Homework Statement

question 3 part b ( see attachment)

Homework Equations

thevenin theorem

The Attempt at a Solution

the answer should be 10.98v for Vth (thevenin equivalent voltage)
all my attempts were unsuccessfull.
I found voltages such as 22.2 volts
i think I lake understanding of the thevenin's theorem because I cannot apply it when it comes to complex questions such as this one.

Thanks to anyone who helps.
