Time and Displacement Graph Help

Click For Summary
To create a position-time graph, plot the given displacement values against their corresponding time values. The time axis should be horizontal, while the displacement axis is vertical. Use the points (t, d) to plot on the graph and connect them to illustrate the relationship between position and time. There is no need to convert the displacements if they are already provided. This method effectively visualizes the object's motion over time.

hello.
i was given information on the time and displacement of an object and the question says to make a position time graph. Can i just use the displacements given or do i have to convert them.

Welcome to the PF. The typical way to do this is to draw the time axis horizontally on the paper, and the displacement axis vertically. Then plot the points that you have (t,d), and connect the dots to show the graph of position versus time.

The book claims the answer is that all the magnitudes are the same because "the gravitational force on the penguin is the same". I'm having trouble understanding this. I thought the buoyant force was equal to the weight of the fluid displaced. Weight depends on mass which depends on density. Therefore, due to the differing densities the buoyant force will be different in each case? Is this incorrect?
