AI Thread Summary
When preparing for a transition to a new school for chemical engineering, it’s crucial to gather information that goes beyond what is typically found on the institution's website. Key areas to explore include the social environment of the town, the campus layout, and the availability of study resources such as libraries and tutoring hours. Understanding public transportation options is also important for navigating the area. Additionally, inquiring about engineering clubs and groups can enhance the academic experience and provide networking opportunities. Transfer students should focus on questions that address their unique needs and seek insights that might not be readily available through official channels.

Hi,

So I was accepted into my #1 school for chemical engineering. I wanted any advice on any questions I should have or prepared to ask the personal running the program that might not be obvious to incoming student. I'm a transfer student with a fairly high gpa, and all of my credits have been accepted, would the physics forum suggest any question that may be useful to a transfer student.

Find out what the town is like. What the layout of the school is. Where the study halls, libraries, tutor hours. Public transit, engineering clubs, or groups. Is the the stuff you're referring to?

Any thing that could be relevant to a transfer student that's not on the website. But yes these types of questions

Hey, I am Andreas from Germany. I am currently 35 years old and I want to relearn math and physics. This is not one of these regular questions when it comes to this matter. So... I am very realistic about it. I know that there are severe contraints when it comes to selfstudy compared to a regular school and/or university (structure, peers, teachers, learning groups, tests, access to papers and so on) . I will never get a job in this field and I will never be taken serious by "real"...
