Transformer load reading calculation

AI Thread Summary
To calculate the percentage loading of a 500KVA transformer with given parameters, the total current across all phases is 957A, leading to an average of 239.25A. The full load current for the transformer is 695.62A. The calculated percentage loading is 34.39%, derived from dividing the average current by the full load current and multiplying by 100. Additionally, the total kVA load is calculated to be 223.8 kVA based on the current readings. The calculations confirm that the transformer is operating at approximately 34.39% of its capacity.

I need help to get the percentage current loading on this transformer with the following parameters
transformer size is 500KVA
Primary voltage is 11KV
Secondary voltage is 415v
power factor is 0.8
current in Red phase is 315A
Current in yellow phase is 302A
Current in blue phase is 317A
Neutral current is 23A

Please, what is the percentage loading of this transformer, i want to be sure my calculation is right

Welcome to PF.

Please show us your calculation first. Also, is this for schoolwork?

it is not for school work but office work
for a 500KVA transformer, the full amperage load will be 695.62A (from I =(KVA *1000)/sq3 *V )
hence I have 315A + 302A + 317A + 23A =957A
average of the total amperage = 957/4 =239.25A
percentage loading = 239.25/695.62 * 100 =34.39%
i want to know if my calculation is correct

The load total kVA it is the sum of each load per phase. The total kVA=415/sqrt(3)*[315+302+317]=223.8 kVA

Hi all I have some confusion about piezoelectrical sensors combination. If i have three acoustic piezoelectrical sensors (with same receive sensitivity in dB ref V/1uPa) placed at specific distance, these sensors receive acoustic signal from a sound source placed at far field distance (Plane Wave) and from broadside. I receive output of these sensors through individual preamplifiers, add them through hardware like summer circuit adder or in software after digitization and in this way got an...
I have recently moved into a new (rather ancient) house and had a few trips of my Residual Current breaker. I dug out my old Socket tester which tell me the three pins are correct. But then the Red warning light tells me my socket(s) fail the loop test. I never had this before but my last house had an overhead supply with no Earth from the company. The tester said "get this checked" and the man said the (high but not ridiculous) earth resistance was acceptable. I stuck a new copper earth...
Thread 'Beauty of old electrical and measuring things, etc.'
Even as a kid, I saw beauty in old devices. That made me want to understand how they worked. I had lots of old things that I keep and now reviving. Old things need to work to see the beauty. Here's what I've done so far. Two views of the gadgets shelves and my small work space: Here's a close up look at the meters, gauges and other measuring things: This is what I think of as surface-mount electrical components and wiring. The components are very old and shows how...
