Upside down diffuser engineering

Hi everyone,

I am looking to develop a smart diffuser with a specific design of inserting the scent upside down on the device with a 'click on' mechanism possibly magnetic. My question is from an engineering perspective, what should I be considering with this specific hardware design? I am a SE so not too familiar with Harware eng or Electrical eng.
Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
