Staying updated on advancements in physics can be effectively achieved through several key resources. Joining the American Physical Society (APS) provides access to the monthly magazine Physics Today, which covers general developments and features in-depth articles. The APS website offers weekly briefs summarizing new developments, with an option for free email notifications. Additionally, engaging with social media platforms like Twitter allows for real-time updates by following physicists, institutions, and journals, enhancing the flow of information in the field.

What are the best ways to stay updated in the progress made in physics? Any good websites or magazines/papers every physicist should know about?

Physics news on Phys.org
If you join the American Physical Society (APS), you will get the monthly magazine Physics Today which will keep you informed of general developments, plus in depth articles each month. The APS also runs a website with 2 paragraph briefs of new developments each week. You can sign up to have weekly email notices. It is probably free (you'll have to check).

If you feel inclined to join twitter you can follow a large number of physicists, physics institutions, physics journals in "real time".
