What are the benefits of using online forums for scientific research?

I'm not new to here, actually I started my first account 4 years ago when I started university studying Robotics. I just made a new account since I forgot everything about the old one/ This forum helped me a lot in times when the literature we used was unclear or insufficient, whether physics or math or something engineering related. So I am back with new questions, and most likely now answers for questions regarding some of my fields of interest.
