AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on the MSc in Earth and Space Physics and Engineering program at DTU in Denmark, with a focus on its potential for future employment at NASA. While the program is well-regarded and offers appealing courses, it is emphasized that non-American citizens face significant challenges in securing jobs at NASA due to citizenship requirements. However, there are opportunities with other contractors and organizations like the European Space Agency (ESA). The consensus suggests that choosing a program based on genuine interest is crucial, and the DTU program is considered a strong option for those passionate about the field.

First of all, you should be aware that unless you are an American citizen, you can't actually work for NASA. However, that does not mean that you can't work for other contractors, or alternatively ESA etc. I couldn't really comment on how good a career choice the course would be, but I would recommend that you choose a course that you are genuinely interested in. If you love the courses this programme offers, then take it!

I will link here to fields that NASA in particular recommends, as they may be useful if you want to work in this field in general.

Are you an US citizen interested in continuing your education overseas in Denmark. If so, your chances may be good. My understanding is the program at DTU is very good. However, unless you are an US citizen, NASA and other US government jobs may be difficult or impossible.

Hey, I am Andreas from Germany. I am currently 35 years old and I want to relearn math and physics. This is not one of these regular questions when it comes to this matter. So... I am very realistic about it. I know that there are severe contraints when it comes to selfstudy compared to a regular school and/or university (structure, peers, teachers, learning groups, tests, access to papers and so on) . I will never get a job in this field and I will never be taken serious by "real"...
