SUMMARY

The discussion clarifies the distinction between motorized breakers and standard circuit breakers, emphasizing that motorized breakers utilize a low voltage motor to facilitate remote operation of the breaker mechanism. Unlike simple breakers, which require manual operation, motorized breakers can be controlled via a remote system, such as a Lyntec controller board. They are specifically designed for electric motors operating at both 60 Hz and 50 Hz, providing functions such as fault signaling, automatic reconnections, and protection against electrical faults like short circuits.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of circuit breaker types: MCB, MCCB, RCD, RCBO, VCB, ACB
  • Familiarity with low voltage motor operation
  • Knowledge of remote control systems in electrical applications
  • Basic principles of electrical fault protection
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the operation of Lyntec controller boards for remote breaker management
  • Learn about the design and functionality of motorized breakers
  • Explore fault protection mechanisms in electrical systems
  • Investigate the differences between various circuit breaker types and their applications
USEFUL FOR

Electrical engineers, technicians working with motor control systems, and professionals involved in designing or maintaining electrical protection devices will benefit from this discussion.

Dear all,

I want to know what is the function of motor in breaker and how it works.

In which category it falls?

I have studied many types of circuit breakers like
MCB
MCCB
RCD
RCBO
VCB
ACB
etc.

It's used to remotely switch power on or off.
However, as described in the picture, it will not operate the breaker mechanism itself.

Hi tipu_sultan. Your attachment shows a breaker with a remote-control function. The low voltage motor is indicated as turning a worm gear to close or open the breaker contacts, thus facilitating remote operation.

That 3-wire red/white/black cable is wired to one of the Lyntec controller boards.

Motorized Breaker are a specialized type of electrical protection device that designed specifically for electric motors, of both 60 Hz and 50 Hz. Functions are faulting signaling, automatic reconnections, protection against electrical faults like short circuits.
