What is the allure of cosmology in the world of physics?

My name is Mary. I am a first-year physics student with a particular fondness for cosmology.Physics is an amazingly transcendental area of knowledge, providing answers to some of the most fundamental questions of science(and humanity in general). As such, a forum created to delve deeper into the (almost philosophical) questions it generates was too attractive to pass up(and maybe ask for a bit of help with my homework).
I hope to learn a lot and get to know you guys !
