Engineering What is the difference equation of the system?

AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on identifying the difference equation for a given signal. A proposed equation is y(k) = 2u(k) + 2u(k-1) + 2u(k-2) - y(k-6), which includes the term y(k) on both sides. Participants suggest simplifying the equation by subtracting y(k) to clarify the relationship. The original poster acknowledges an oversight regarding the term k-6. The conversation emphasizes the importance of correctly formulating difference equations in system analysis.

Hey guys, what is the difference equation of the signl seen in the figure ?

my suggestion is: y(k) = 2u(k) + 2u(k-1) + 2u(k-2) - y(k-6)

The term ##y(k)## appears on both sides of the equation. Try subtracting it out. Does the result make sense?
