What is the Role of Physics Forums in the Scientific Community?

Hi all,

My name is Matt. I study physical chemistry and am working on my PhD. I have used physics Forums in the past for help with my own problems and thought it was about time I gave back. I'm certain I will still have plenty of my own questions to ask all of you as well!
