AI Thread Summary
The discussion revolves around a numerical puzzle where participants are tasked with identifying a missing number in a grid based on a specific pattern. The key to solving the puzzle lies in replacing the corner numbers with the sum of their odd digits. For example, the number 492 has an odd digit sum of 9, as it contains only the digit 9 as odd. By applying this method to all corner numbers, the missing number is determined to be 13, revealing the underlying pattern in the grid.

looks like an extract from a telephone directory to me - but which one?

Answer:

Replace the numbers in each of the corners with the sum of the odd digits in the number that is there. For instance in the top right corner is the number 492. There is only one odd digit there, namely 9. So the sum of the odd digits is 9. After replacing all the corner numbers, the pattern appears. For this reason, I guess the answer is 13.

Every day we learn new things. Sometimes it's just a small fact or realization. No matter how trivial or random, let's start recording our daily lessons. Please start off with "Today I learned".
