What sparked my passion for math and physics?

Hey everyone,

I just recently found this website, and it looks like there is tons of awesome information available. I'm currently enrolled in community college, and I intend to do a dual major in math and physics. My hobbies include playing World of Warcraft (I freely admit to being a complete nerd and gamer), reading epic fantasy novels, and watching anime. I honestly didn't start out wanting to major in math or physics, as I hated math in high school and was convinced I was terrible at it. Then a friend on WoW basically coerced me to trying math out again, and I found myself adopting his enthusiasm for the subject. And since I like to do research, I figured physics went well with math, so that's where I'm at today.

I found this forum cause I was searching on Google if it's common for physics student to feel like they're in the wrong major in the first semester cause it feels like too much for me to learn the materials even the ones that are considered as "basic math" or "basic physics", I've initial fascination with the universe's mysteries and it disconnect with the reality of intense, foundational mathematics courses required...
