What to include in a report on Chaos Theory

AI Thread Summary
Chaos Theory is fundamentally linked to physics through its application in various physical systems, most of which exhibit chaotic behavior. Key examples include the double pendulum and other mechanical systems found in analytical mechanics textbooks. Entropy serves as a significant connection between chaos and physics, highlighting how disorder increases in chaotic systems. Researchers should explore subtopics such as deterministic chaos, sensitivity to initial conditions, and the mathematical frameworks that describe chaotic systems. A comprehensive report should integrate these elements to effectively relate Chaos Theory to physics.

I have to conduct a physics research report on Chaos Theory. From background reading i understand it to be a very maths based topic so my question is how do i relate chaos theory to physics? What sort of sub topics should i be researching?

Any responses greatly appreciated!

Most physical systems are chaotic. The double pendulum is the sort of canonical example, but look in any textbook on analytical mechanics and they usually have numeros examples of chaotic mechanical systems. One of the more explicit connections between physics and chaos is the concept of entropy.

Thread 'Collision of a bullet on a rod-string system: query'
In this question, I have a question. I am NOT trying to solve it, but it is just a conceptual question. Consider the point on the rod, which connects the string and the rod. My question: just before and after the collision, is ANGULAR momentum CONSERVED about this point? Lets call the point which connects the string and rod as P. Why am I asking this? : it is clear from the scenario that the point of concern, which connects the string and the rod, moves in a circular path due to the string...
