SUMMARY

The current demand for STEM fields in the US as of 2015 highlights significant opportunities in computer science, engineering, and healthcare. Graduates in these areas are likely to find entry-level positions readily available. Projections indicate that fields such as data science and artificial intelligence will see increased demand over the next 4-10 years, aligning with the educational timelines for BS, MS, and PhD degrees. This discussion underscores the importance of aligning educational pursuits with market needs to enhance employability.

Hi everyone. I have written similar threads about this in the past, but I thought that now would be a good time to revive this topic (as a snapshot of STEM demand, if you will). So I would like to ask the following questions:

1. Which STEM fields are actually in demand in the US as of 2015?

2. Which STEM fields have positions that are available to graduates (in the US, or graduates elsewhere who are seeking jobs in the US) immediately upon graduation? (i.e. entry level positions)

3. Which STEM fields will most likely be in demand within the next 4-5 years (the span by which most people would earn a BS degree)? Within 6 years? (the span by which people would earn a MS degree)? Within the next 8-10 years (the span by which most people who quality would earn a PhD)?
