Relax...Fresno is conservative enough that I don't Smurf would go anywhere near it.

Conservative enough? Have you seen our crime rates? Speaking of which...

If I can handle uptown Nanaimo I'm sure I can handle a puny town called "Fresno".

Perhaps I spoke too soon...

If he shows up at your door just hog tie him and drop him off NAS Lemoore and say he a Marine Crops. deserter...

It'll take them at least a few hours before they figure out who he really is and in the mean time he can get a real nice crash course on military bearing..

You guys are so mean...

On a serious note, where are you going to in Mexico?

  • #11
I'm going to spend some time in mexico city and then in Chiapas, and then probably go down to Nicuragua and maybe spend some time in Panama.

Ole Buddy, I'm in San Diego, but I just don't get the feeling you would want to go out for coffee. hahahaha

  • #13
What part of Mexico are you going to? Also, why not check out the little page on pf that has everyone's locations?

Too lazy? Easier if I just make a public thread.

If you're coming down the I-5 through Oregon, let me know and if possible I'll meet you and buy lunch or dinner.

And I'll shoot out your tires!

Good. I'll need as many free meals as I can get.

You live in Fresno? No wonder you have such a bad attitude.

I used to hang out in Fresno with my cousins from time to time, and we often went duck hunting at the dikes near Mendota. I think the average summer temp in Fresno is what, about 135F?

Yah, that's about right. We really don't know what the hell you people are complaining about with global warming.

My cousin calls it "the armpit of California".

And no, the city doesn't smell.

In case you missed this...

Why? It only takes a few seconds, and we're talking about Fresno...

Really the Fresno tude is an old family joke.

I don't know Smurf,

I'm on the West Coast and I'd love to treat you to lunch... On the other hand, it would be kind of (marginally) strange.

Also we'll be traveling a lot next summer, including a three week stint in GB. So there's a good chance we won't be here when you're coming through.

If TSA and LYN and a few other Los Angeles area people want to get together for sushi or some such, let me know. I'd be more than happy to come drink and eat raw fish with a group of PF'ers, even though I'd be the old fogey in the group.

Are there any other female Los Angeles PF participants?

Swerve is my roommate, and we're both originally from the LA area, but neither of us currently lives there. She will be returning for Christmas, and I might but I'm not certain of that. Her family lives in Long Beach, and mine in Whittier.

Chances are, I'll still be up here during the summer. So smurf, if you take the US-101 when you get to California, which is the coastal freeway (don't take the I-5 through cow country, you'll regret it), you're welcome to stop by when you get to Santa Rosa. I live about 5 minutes from the freeway. Are you seriously planning to drive all the way down to Nicarauga?

I'm near Santa Monica, and I think I might be older than you!

Smurf if you do come by Albuquerque, I live about a mile from I-40. And forget Sushi from me, I might take you to Wendy's if you're lucky

I think I'd rather poke my eyes out than eat your wendys

Cool! On both counts! LOL. We should do sushi sometime. There's a Sushi Roku near you, I think.

But even though you're like 50 years old, Barbie, you still have the body of a 16 year old. (Some people say it's all plastic, but I don't believe it.) I'd still *look* like the old fogey.

If want to eat healthy and good then you could find a nice fisherman’s wharf. Of course if you just want to eat good and cheap you could find an IN N OUT...order a double double animal style...:-p Those are good.

Now if you get a chance I would recommend you go by Visalia and then head over to the Sequoia national park where you will find General Sherman...the world’s largest living organism. A very worth while trip..

MIH is 50 years old?

No, but Barbie is.

That sounds like fun, Patty. I would invite you over for dinner but I've put out all these http://www.textfiles.com/humor/smurf-03.txt" on my lawn and they might be difficult to navigate around at night!
And, no, matt, I'm not quite the same age as Barbie.

LOL! I particularly like the recipes using trapped smurfs. Here's a couple:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
New Tasty Smurf Recipies
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Smurf Dogs

12 Smurfs
1 Slice Smurf Cheese
2 Cans of Smurf Beans
1 Can A&W Smurf Sauce

Heat oven to 400. Place the smurfs in a large pan filled with the A&W
Smurf
sauce and the Smurf beans. Now cut the cheese into 12 strips. Place the smurfs
into the pan. Now place one strip of cheese on each smurf. Let it bake for 20
to
25 min. Makes 4 or 5 servings.

Garlic Smurf Bread

30 Smurfs, whole
3/4 Cup margarine, melted
1/8 Teaspoon garlic

Heat oven to 425. Mixe the butter and garlic. Now brush the mixture onto
the
smurfs. Place in a pan and bake for about 8 minutes or until golden brown.
This
goes good with anything.

I live in Orange County (aka The OC) not far south of LA. Not sure if I would be able to make it to the LA area on short notice though. Keep us posted.

if you're taking the long way to mexico... i live just a short way away from western US... three days out of the way... maybe 4 or 5... but its worth it. East coast is really the place to be!

and anyway, what're you going to do in mexico? some final destination? or just bussing down, then bussing back? I've always wanted to go to mexico... but why're you going in summer... you know its hot there?

I have few set destinations, but Chiapas is a main goal of mine.
