1675: Gottfried Leibniz demonstrated integral calculus for the first time to find the area under the graph of a function y = f(x) by using antiderivatives.

We had an announcement about it at work over the Tannoy at 10.55, then again at 10.57, then again at 11am. It was almost like a countdown, followed by a very sombre anticlimax.
