Homework help : What object rotates at 90 RPM?

In summary, the conversation involves a new member asking for help with a homework problem involving an object with an angular velocity of 3pi radians per second. The response suggests converting the unit to more common units and doing a Google search to identify the object. The new member then reports not being able to find an object with an RPM of 90.

What do you think? Per the forum rules, you must show that you've put some effort into the problem before getting help.

As per the instructions, try converting the [itex] 3 \pi \ \mathrm{\frac{rad}{sec}} [/itex] to more common, everyday units. Then do a google search. See what you come up with.

I apologize, I’m new to the forum but this is what I’ve gotten so far, I am not able to identify an object that has an RPMof 90.

Okay, good so far.

Type in "90 rpm" into google search, and see what hits you get.

1. What does RPM stand for?

RPM stands for revolutions per minute. It is a unit of measurement used to describe the speed of rotation of an object.

2. How is the speed of rotation measured?

The speed of rotation is measured by counting the number of full rotations an object makes in one minute.

3. What is an example of an object that rotates at 90 RPM?

An example of an object that rotates at 90 RPM is a record player turntable. The record rotates at 90 RPM while playing a vinyl record.

4. How does the speed of rotation affect an object?

The speed of rotation can affect an object in various ways. It can determine the amount of power needed to rotate the object, the amount of time it takes to complete a full rotation, and the stability of the object while rotating.

5. Can the speed of rotation be changed?

Yes, the speed of rotation can be changed by adjusting the power or force applied to the object, or by changing the object's design or structure. For example, a record player may have different settings for different RPM speeds.
