I would highly recommend attending the International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) if you have the opportunity to do so. This congress is a prestigious event that brings together the top mathematicians from around the world to share their research and insights. Not only will you have the chance to attend lectures and presentations from some of the brightest minds in the field, but you will also have the opportunity to network and connect with other mathematicians at various stages in their careers.

As a 2nd year undergraduate student, you may feel intimidated by the level of the lectures and discussions at the ICM. However, I believe that attending this congress can be incredibly beneficial for your academic and professional development. You will have the chance to hear about cutting-edge research and gain exposure to new ideas and approaches in mathematics. This can inspire and motivate you in your own studies and research.

Moreover, the ICM offers a unique opportunity to interact with mathematicians from different backgrounds and cultures. This can broaden your perspective and help you see mathematics in a new light. Additionally, attending the ICM can open doors for future collaborations and research opportunities.

In conclusion, I highly encourage you to attend the International Congress of Mathematicians next year in Hyderabad. It may seem daunting at first, but I believe the experience will be invaluable for your growth as a mathematician. Good luck with your decision and your studies.
