What to Expect When Studying Astrophysics in University?

In summary, studying astrophysics in university involves gaining a deep understanding of the fundamental principles of physics and how they apply to the study of celestial objects and phenomena. This includes learning about topics such as cosmology, planetary science, and astrophysical theories and models. Students can expect to engage in both theoretical and practical coursework, including laboratory work, computer simulations, and data analysis. They will also have opportunities for hands-on experience through internships and research projects. Additionally, studying astrophysics at the university level requires a strong foundation in mathematics, as well as critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Overall, students can expect a challenging and rewarding academic experience that prepares them for careers in research, academia, or other fields related to space and astronomy

Hey everyone, I'm brand new here! I absolutely love Physics, specifically Astrophysics, I'm actually looking to study black holes and stellar evolution. I'm preparing to go to University this fall to get my bachelors in Science with a major in Physics and a minor in either Mathematics or Chemistry. I've been studying Astrophysics on my own for about 5 or 6 years now and I've also been following all the research and recent discoveries with black holes and quasars. I'll be getting my degrees late in life since I'm 32 now and plan on going all the way up to a masters degree but I love the field so much. I also just recently got my first telescope as well.
I look forward to talking to everyone and learning from everyone as well!
