Vibration absorber for a quadcopter?

In summary, the conversation is about examining the effectiveness of a vibration absorber design for a quad copter. The absorber system consists of a spring damper and a base plate, while the primary system may include the arm, motor, and blades of the quad copter. The purpose is to determine how to reduce shaking in the quad copter.

Homework Statement

I am supposed to examine the effectiveness of a vibration absorber design for a quad copter. Attached is a picture of the quad copter and the design; basically each of the spring dampers would be attached to an arm of the copter.
In the case of a single quad copter arm, what would be the primary system and what would be the absorber system?

Homework Equations

The Attempt at a Solution

I know the absorber system is the spring damper and the base plate. but for the primary system, is it just the arm or should i include the motor and the blades?

How would you normally work it out?
What is is it that you want to stop shaking about?

1. What is a vibration absorber for a quadcopter?

A vibration absorber is a device that is attached to a quadcopter to reduce or eliminate vibrations caused by the motors and propellers. This helps to improve flight stability and reduce wear and tear on the quadcopter's components.

2. How does a vibration absorber work?

A vibration absorber typically consists of a soft material, such as rubber or foam, that absorbs and dampens vibrations. It is attached between the frame of the quadcopter and the motors or propellers, and acts as a buffer to reduce the transfer of vibrations.

3. Why is a vibration absorber important for a quadcopter?

Vibrations can affect the performance of a quadcopter, causing it to become unstable and difficult to control. They can also cause damage to sensitive components, leading to malfunctions or even failure of the quadcopter. A vibration absorber helps to mitigate these issues and improve overall flight performance.

4. Can a vibration absorber be used on any quadcopter?

Yes, a vibration absorber can be used on most quadcopters, regardless of size or type. However, it is important to choose the right type and size of absorber for your specific quadcopter to ensure proper fit and function.

5. Are there any downsides to using a vibration absorber on a quadcopter?

While a vibration absorber can greatly improve flight performance, it does add weight to the quadcopter which can affect battery life and flight time. It is important to balance the benefits of a vibration absorber with the added weight to determine if it is necessary for your specific quadcopter.
