Undergrad If two units have the same dimensions are they always inequivalent?
My question was relating to Units only, If two units are in SI and you do dimensional analysis on the two different units that come to the same dimensions does that mean the units are equal? e.g Resistance Ω Is equvilant as Inductance H * frequency Hz so, A resistor could be measured as 100 H...- alewisGB

If two units have the same dimensions are they always inequivalent? I was thinking, would doing dimensional analysis on units prove they are equivalent or could they have the same units but not be equivalent.- alewisGB

Solving Hard Inequalities: 1/(x+4)>x-4 & 1/(x+7)>x-7
I have got the answer of -√5 > x and 5 > x > -2 I have not done further maths and although inequalities were covered they were not nearly this complex I have not seen the rule "0 > (x-a)(x-b)(x-c) with a<b<c" So I am not sure what that means Thank you for your help :)- alewisGB

Solving Hard Inequalities: 1/(x+4)>x-4 & 1/(x+7)>x-7
for: 1/(x+2)>x-2 Step 1: x+2>x3+2x2-4x-8 Step 2: 0>x3+2x2-5x-10 Step 3: 0>(x+2)(x2-5) Step 4: if 0=(x+2)(x2-5) x = -2 or +√5 or -√5 Step 5: Unsure, do input -2.01 and -1.99 and see which one is true? (same for +or-√5) or do I do something else- alewisGB

Solving Hard Inequalities: 1/(x+4)>x-4 & 1/(x+7)>x-7
I am looking at questions like 1/(x+4)>x-4 or 1/(x+7)>x-7 I have no idea how to solve them, I have simplified to (-x^2+50) /(7+x) however I don't think it is correct and I don't know what do do from there.- alewisGB

Undergrad Why the Monty Hall puzzle is categorically 1/2 and not 2/3rds
There are loads of proofs, I think a simple one is the initial probability if 1/3 yes and 2/3 no. The initial probabilery can't change at all so the chance of winning if you stick is always 1/3- alewisGB

Magnet's attraction/rejection Force
Sorry but the strenth of the magnet needed is too strong, more information is needed to work out how strong but if you are needing to lift it by 50cm the magnet would not be consumer grade and not a permanent magnet!- alewisGB
