    Circuit Question - Driving me crazy

    I thought maybe, okay find a new voltage? But V= IR --> (9A) (4 ohms) where R = Total effective resistance. Then it's 36 V, so V = IR --> 36/12 = 3 A for c? Right? But why do you find a new V and do the problem this way? But 4 ohms is for f, and not for C. I'm so confused :( :(

    Circuit Question - Driving me crazy

    I = V / R ? Then the currents add up to the total current, but I still can't get the right answers. I know total current in is equal to the total current out..?

    Circuit Question - Driving me crazy

    How do you find the potential difference? I thought it was the same between any set of resistors in series (i.e. only the current changes with differing resistances). Please help, at this point I am totally lost. Thanks

    Circuit Question - Driving me crazy

    Homework Statement The problem is "What is the current through resistor g when switch B has been closed and switch A has been open for a long time?" (see diagram) Homework Equations V = IR I/Reff = 1/R1 + 1/R2 Reff = R1 + R2 The Attempt at a Solution Because f+g are in...

    How Do You Calculate the Tension in Cables Supporting a Suspended Loudspeaker?

    Ok so I got 9.8x26kg/2 = 127.4 and do you mean sin-1(127.4)?

    How Do You Calculate the Tension in Cables Supporting a Suspended Loudspeaker?

    Homework Statement A 26.0 kg loudspeaker is suspended 1.9 m below the ceiling by two 3.0-m long cables that angle outward at equal angles. What is the tension (in N) in the cables? Assume that the local acceleration due to gravity is 9.80 m/s2. I'm not sure how to approach this problem...

    Finding Magnitude of F - Vector E & Vector F Homework

    Homework Statement Let vector E = (10 i + 1 j) and vector F = (5 i - 5 j). Find the magnitude of F Homework Equations I thought it would just be 5^2 - 5^2 which equals 25-25, all square rooted. The Attempt at a Solution I keep getting 0 but it's not right. Help?

    Calculating Jet Plane's Acceleration After Full Throttle

    Well, I tried vf=vi+a(t) but I got 20m/s/s, which was wrong.

    Calculating Jet Plane's Acceleration After Full Throttle

    Homework Statement A jet plane is cruising at 300 m/s when suddenly the pilot turns the engines up to full throttle. After traveling 2 km, the jet is moving with a speed of 400 m/s. What is the jet's acceleration (in m/s/s) during this interval assuming the acceleration to be constant...
