Faraday's Induced Emf: Help & Solutions Needed
I'm reposting this because my homework is due in an hour and I still have not received help on how to solve this. I understand now that the the loop is equal to one. But could someone be generous enough to explain to me what the area is on problem 2 and 3 and why .503 is wrong for question 1...- Kali8972

Induced EMF ~ Faraday's Law/Lenz's Law
Hmm.. I don't know why they don't show up They're located here however: http://www.pitt.edu/~slm17/problem1.jpg http://www.pitt.edu/~slm17/problem2.jpg http://www.pitt.edu/~slm17/problem3.jpg That helps a lot knowing it's one loop. I was getting really confused on that part. For...- Kali8972

Induced EMF ~ Faraday's Law/Lenz's Law
I'm having a lot of trouble with the following questions. I was wondering if someone could steer me in the right direction and tell me what I'm doing wrong. I suppose my biggest problem is I don't understand how to do these without knowing the number of turns in the coil. Here's what I've done...- Kali8972

Finding Derivative of V= ay/(b2 + y2) - Help Needed
yes... For example if you had 2x^3 the derivative would be 6x^2... When i do the derivative for the above equation I get: a(b^2-y^2)/(b^2+y^2)^2- Kali8972

Finding Derivative of V= ay/(b2 + y2) - Help Needed
Partial integral? Can someone help me figure out what this means? It's been forever since I've had any math classes. V= ay/(b2 + y2) Find the derivative in terms of a,b, and y Thanks so much!- Kali8972

At what points is the potential zero?
I was wondering if someone could help get me started on this problem. I thought I knew how to solve it but keep coming up with the wrong answer: A 2.9 µC is at x = 0 and a -2.0 µC charge is at x = 3.5 cm. (Let V = 0 at r = .) (a) At what point along the line joining them is the...- Kali8972

What is the Net Force on Charges in a Line?
I'm having problems figuring this one out. Some guidance would be great! Thanks! Particles of charge Q1 = +75 µC, Q2 = +44 µC, and Q3 = -80 µC are placed in a line (Fig. 21-46). The center one is 0.35 m from each of the others. Calculate the net force on each charge due to the other two...- Kali8972

Calculating RMS Speed of Nitrogen Molecules
I'm still having troubles with this problem, any help would be appreciated, since some of the last suggestions didn't work out too well. Q. What is the rms speed of nitrogen molecules contained in a 7.0 m^{3} volume at 4.20 atm if the total amount of nitrogen is 1600 mol? I figured I...- Kali8972

Calculating RMS Speed of Nitrogen Molecules
Ok I took all your suggestions and I found the new Volume to be 7000 L, which would make the new T about 223859 Kelvin. Then the molar mass I found by dividing (4.648e-26 kg)/1600 mol and got 2.905e-29 I subsitituted all those in and got 564826 m/s and that still seems far off. I...- Kali8972
