Exponential growth problem (at least I think it is)
Well I ended up getting t = 2.72, and subbing that into the original equation I get M(t) = 0.245. So hopefully its correct, and I'll post back and let ya'll know how it went! Thanks again everyone for the help!- Random-Hero-

Exponential growth problem (at least I think it is)
Homework Statement The measure of effectiveness of a sleep deprived student studying for a test on a scale of 0 to 1 is given by the formula M(t) = ln(t^2) / 3t, where 't' is the time in hours that a student spends studying, 0 < t ≤ 4. Determine the maximum measure of effectiveness of...- Random-Hero-

Determining secant/cosecant equations for a graph
I'm just totally lost, I genuinely have NO idea what I'm doing, I just punched those into my Ti-83 and the graph that came up looked identical, but I want to figure it out by eye. Is there a site that covers this somewhere with reciprocal trig?- Random-Hero-

Determining secant/cosecant equations for a graph
Homework Statement http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/2097/56413287.jpg [/URL]The Attempt at a Solution I believe that the Secant curve has the equation y = 3 Sec ( x - pi/4) However I'm having difficulty figuring out what the cosecant equation would be. Wouldn't it just be the same thing but...- Random-Hero-

How do I use Gauss-Jordan Elimination to solve a system of linear equations?
Homework Statement How would I solve this using Gauss-Jordan Elimination? x - 2y + 3z = 0 x + y - z = 4 2x - 4y + 6z = 5 which I think becomes: 1 -2 3 | 0 1 -1 -1 | 4 2 -4 6 | 5 But I'm confused as to the process to achieve the answer. :S- Random-Hero-

How do I show two planes are neither coincident, or parallel?
I think that maybe my professor just made a typo, because that doesn't make sense, from everything I've found so far, suggest they are distinct. But how do I show that? Do I use the dot/cross product for the parallel and perpendicular things?- Random-Hero-
