Undergrad Where Does Ball Lose Contact on Ramp?
A ball is rolled down a smooth ramp, that curls upwards. Where will the ball lose contact with the surface? According to the conservation of energy law, the ball is able to reach its original height, which means the ball should stop at A. However, after the ball passes point B, won't the... -

High School Explain when will upthrust change?
The weight of the object doesn;t affect upthrust, they are 2 different forces. And no upthrust will not be the same because the density of the fluid changed. As said in the previous post, it's the volume of the object (i.e. the amount of fluid displaced) and the density that matters. -

Undergrad Is the value of gravity always constant?
The gravitational constant, G, as its name implies, is always constant. However in reality, there are many other factors that influences the net pull on an object, such as the non-uniform density of the Earth, imperfect spherical shape of the Earth and even the gravitational pull from other... -

Graduate Is Dark Matter and Dark Energy Present on Earth?
Some stars move at speeds that should rip the galaxy apart; there is not enough measured mass to supply the gravity needed to hold the galaxy together. These high rotational speeds suggest that the galaxy contains more mass than was calculated. Scientists theorize that, if the galaxy was...- sfsy1
