AI Thread Summary
When a current passes through a conductor held barefoot, it enters the Earth, where its behavior depends on the ground's properties. The charge interacts with cations in the soil, potentially combining with them. The specifics of this interaction vary based on soil composition and moisture levels. Additionally, the concept of telluric currents is relevant, as these are natural electrical currents that flow through the Earth. Understanding these processes is crucial for applications in geophysics and electrical engineering.

Current passes through us if we hold a conductor barefoot and it goes inside the earth. What happens next? What happens with that charge as it enters the ground? Does it combine with the cations present in the soil?

Pretty much - details depend on the ground.
Also see "telluric current".
