How does electroplating of Cu and Zn work?

Electroplating of Cu and Zn, from their sulphate solutions using one of them as electrodes,along with some inert electrode as anode.Plating of one is possible but not the other.Explain me in detail.

It has to do with oxidation and reduction...refer to your text.
