Looking for a wireless system for collecting 12+ temp. measurements

AI Thread Summary
The discussion focuses on finding a wireless system for collecting over a dozen temperature measurements, with suggestions for transmitters and receivers. Onset products are recommended for their quality, although they may be more suited for weather measurements rather than smaller-scale applications. For thermoelectric measurements, alternatives like Omega and Bluetooth systems are suggested due to their affordability and ease of use. There is a mention of National Instruments, which offers limited channels in their wireless options. The conversation also touches on the usability of LabView for data acquisition and analysis, with mixed opinions on its effectiveness.

I was wondering if anyone has suggestions in terms of wireless transmitters/receivers for a system that will have over a dozen temperature measurements (either thermocouples or RTD's). I have no idea where to even begin looking. Thanks,

Here's one: http://www.onsetcomp.com/products/weather_stations

I've never used that particular one, but Onset makes great products.

hmm I am actually looking for something.. maybe smaller scale? Its for measuring thermoelectrics, i.e. a lot smaller than weather type temperatures.

Can't vouch for their systems, having mainly worked with National Instruments (who only offer 4ch wireless), but you could try Omega.

Well, you haven't really given us much information but I would suggest bluetooth. Its relatively cheap and easier to work with than wifi. Although some of it requires ATA commands if IIRC. Its been a while since I've done any wireless stuff.

BTW, NL's LabView blows!

Not really, it's pretty powerful if you persevere with it. If you have the time to learn how to program everything in a non graphical manner it's probably less useful, but as a quick and easy means of acquiring, analysing and displaying data it's pretty good.

Thread 'I need a concave mirror with a focal length length of 150 feet'
I need to cut down a 3 year old dead tree from top down so tree causes no damage with small pieces falling. I need a mirror with a focal length of 150 ft. 12" diameter to 36" diameter will work good but I can't think of any easy way to build it. Nothing like this for sale on Ebay. I have a 30" Fresnel lens that I use to burn stumps it works great. Tree service wants $2000.
Hi all, i have some questions about the tesla turbine: is a tesla turbine more efficient than a steam engine or a stirling engine ? about the discs of the tesla turbine warping because of the high speed rotations; does running the engine on a lower speed solve that or will the discs warp anyway after time ? what is the difference in efficiency between the tesla turbine running at high speed and running it at a lower speed ( as fast as possible but low enough to not warp de discs) and: i...
